Problem

The process of finding a home to rent in Nigeria takes a lot of time and often requires visiting multiple places with agents which is stressful and really costly.

This causes frustration for the average citizen, as it’s noted to be the only way to find houses to rent. There’s an opportunity to make this process easier and faster, thus improving customer satisfaction.

Solution - A platform that

Shows more information and transparency about the house and its environment, eg, electricity, flood & Drainage, close areas, crime, map, locations, etc.
Have reviews of the home from people that live in that area. Also, able to report after visiting a place if there is a scam & share to social media to ask
Direct Chat with Lawyer or Landlords to ask questions about the home and next steps.
Gives the ability for people to be able to virtually tour the home or see a video tour. This will help in influencing their decisions before choosing to visit the house physically.

Discovering the Problem

They wanted to build a real estate platform that helps people find and rent apartments in Lagos, without the use of agents.

During Kickoff, we found out “they don't really know much about the problem”. We advised taking time to do generative research, to learn what opportunities are there, before building anything.
